Information To Include When Reporting An Issue​

To help support reproduce and investigate the issue, include:

  • A short summary of what happened.
  • The steps you took before the issue appeared.
  • What you expected to happen.
  • What happened instead, including any error messages.
  • The workbook or document workflow you were using, such as file import, PDF Compare, annotations, references, search, or extraction.
  • Your Excel version and operating system.
  • Whether you are using Excel desktop or Excel for the web.
  • Screenshots or screen recordings, if they help show the issue.
  • Any sample files needed to reproduce the issue, with sensitive information removed.
